Markdown Extension For Vim

I really like the life in plain-text world where Markdown is my best friend. Vim 7.3 itself support Markdown file type which is implemented by Tim Pope, an absolute man in Vim community. Also, I see Mike West did good notation and improvement based on Tim Pope's markdown. However, the current work has missed other important features like syntax fold, table operation, etc. Besides, a few of syntax highlight issues are found in Vim. I want to work out them, not sure when I could complete them.

Feature

So far, I only need two features:

  • heading syntax fold
  • list syntax fold
  • table & table operation

More features will be added into above list.

heading syntax fold

Two kinds of heading layout is preferred as following:

  H1
  ==                  # H1

  H2
  --                  ## H2

  ### H3              ### H3

  #### H4             #### H4

  ##### H5            ##### H5

  ###### H6           ###### H6

I don't think it's good practice mixing two kinds of style for H1 and H2. Keep concise and simple, above heading layout is strongly recommended.
